Just as the title says, I'm in the search for a pair of black on black fate for a friend. I've come across some on ebay and over the internet but they are always pink or tortoise.

I know it's not easy to part with a pair of shades but if anyone has a pair of these that they could let go, please let me know!

Thanks Dann. I never really left the forum.. I've always been more of a lurker than a poster here. The information found in this forum is gold! =)

I always wear assault boots both first and second gen but it would be my first "race shoe". I like the more focused racing shoes by oakley, like the kart and such, but I feel they just wont last very long as an everyday shoe (going in gravel, grass, dirt..) That's why I like the pit boot a lot, they look tough.

I wear size 10 for most of my oakley shoes but I do have some 10.5 factory pilot and my 2nd generation assault boots are 9.5. I also have some reebok basketball shoes in size 10.

I guess if you say they are pretty true to size I'll need some 10's ;)

Do you have some in stock or could have some easily? I would be interested.

If you got some other oakley shoes, could you compare the size? I ask because I wear anything from 9.5 to 10 and 10.5 in oakley so I don't want to throw money out for shoe that won't fit me.

And, do they have a hard toe cap? I think I've heard that somewhere.

Thanks for the reply!

Hey all,

I remember seeing the oakley crew shoe maybe 1 year ago on oakley's web site but only to never see it again after a month or so.

Does anybody got some of these shoes?

I've searched and they seem to be pretty rare on ebay and are only availble in specialised racing stores.

Anybody that owns a pair of these shoes could do a quick review and compare shoe sizes (these vs. what you wear for assault boots) ?

Thanks =)

I used retaining rings to hold the rivets and some little round wave spring under the ring in critical places, which are very strong, there isn't any loose in them. So they aren't really riveted, but it does pretty much the same job. And I used some wood, hammer and hand made tools to install them.

Very nice work with your case Brennan, has a lot of class, I love it.

hey guys,

I just wanted to show off an oakley display case that I designed and built last year for a sec 5 project. Its all aluminium and 1/4" plexiglass and has ~250 aluminium rivets. I've also incorporated in the top a light system made of 10 electric blue leds. Costed me near 900$ cdn to make it.

let me know what you think of it!

hey fréchette, I've built one myself, and the one tip I can give you about making one of them is to plan absolutely everything in advance. cause when you start building it, you can't fix your errors. make some plans on autocad or something, I'm sure it'll help you a lot.

Here's a pic of mine...
just to give you a sens of scale, It's 50 inches tall

I've seen an extremely attractive girl at school with one of those on her head, so I asked her where she bought it caus' I really wanted one of them. She told me that an Oakley rep just gave it to her at some ski resort in Québec because she was a great skier. Lucky girl...

thx for the comment! Well, it took me maybe 35-45 hours to make all the plans perfect, then, I ordered the sheets (already cutted to my dimensions) and I assembled it in about 20 hours... But the worst thing was installing all the rivets by hand with an hammer and a piece of wood to pop in the retaining rings, lol. It costed ~cnd900$ for all the material but I don't think I'm going to sell it anytime soon.. It's my pride and joy

My dad's an engineer, so he helped me a bit with the conception. And I'm gonna try to get a job at Oakley canada in May, when I'll finish school.. I hope showing them pictures of the case will impress them enough to hire me, lol

I got them US 123.51$, I know it's a great deal for S.I. assault boots, even for the civilian ones. Anyways, the seller was scott.cg and he doesn't have any more for now, but who knows, maybe if you ask him he could get some more.

Here's the link of the auction: http://cgi.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=63850&item=5360931621&rd=1

Well I just got the answer from the eBay seller, and he says that he is in the US army and that he ordered them from his unit and took them out the box himself.

Maybe they are not fakes after all, but they are certainly quite ugly compared to the ones that are now avaible.

I'll go make a quick check tomorow at Oakley canada before deciding if I'll ship them back to him. (anyways, they are a bit too big for me so I don't really have a use for them)

I'll msg back tomorow with the official answer from oakley.

Ok, well, maybe the difference would be more obvious if you compare them with real ones:
